CORONAVIRUS UPDATE

Dear Patients:

As you may know, dental offices throughout the country are now closed. In NY State, dental offices have been ordered closed until April 30th.

Our patients are our family. These are unprecedented and frightening times. We are concerned about our health, our livelihoods, our very survival – and – we do not have all the facts, which adds to the anxiety.

We are a community and will get through this together and be stronger. The Hindin Center will be offering weekly information that we hope will benefit you. Please feel welcome to share your stories, questions and concerns. (info@hindincenter.com)

Some of you are currently under treatment, others waiting to begin treatment, needing follow up or interested in care for a new concern. Until we can open and begin rescheduling, we want to offer you other options as well as information that might benefit you and your family during this unprecedented pandemic period.

Social Distancing

We have all heard that social distancing and hand washing are two priorities for slowing the spread of the virus. We prefer using the term “Physical Distancing”. Many of us are maintaining our connection through video chats. We have had family video group chats with children and grandchildren. In fact, now there is more time for non-business communication.

Emergency Treatment

Under the existing regulations, the Hindin Center is allowed to provide emergency care. Please call our office with any concerns you or your family may have.
If emergencies require treatment, we are limiting only one person in the office at a time. Our office uses disposable PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) and all surfaces in the operatory and office are treated with sanitizing anti-viral agent after every patient.
We are concerned about your health and safety as well as ours. Please inform us if you have any symptoms such as a runny nose, sore throat, body aches, fever, shortness of breath or have been in contact with anyone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19.

Telemedicine Consultations and Follow Ups

Medical, dental and government organizations and agencies have expanded the use of telemedicine and relaxed restrictions. The Hindin Center can provide a telemedicine appointment for any concerns you may have or for follow up care for existing treatment. Some dental insurances are providing reimbursements for these telemedicine visits. You can schedule a telemedicine appointment by calling our office and leaving a message.

Coronavirus News

The novel coronavirus is extremely contagious and more information is coming out daily. Here is some new and some revisions of current information you should know:
Up to 1/3 of coronavirus tests could be false negatives. WSJ: https://on.wsj.com/3bKz8gF
In this report, published on April 2, there is concern that even those who had tested and received negative results may in fact have COVID-19. There are also those who have no symptoms or mild symptoms and test positive. Both of these groups could be carriers and able to transmit the virus. Please caution everyone in your family to be extremely careful.
